Painted Pink is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting breast cancer patients and survivors through a variety of initiatives aimed at providing practical assistance, emotional support, and educational resources. Our programs, including the Care Kit Initiative and the ShowerHer Campaign, are designed to address the diverse needs of individuals facing a breast cancer diagnosis. By fostering community engagement and advocacy, Painted Pink strives to empower those affected by breast cancer and promote breast health awareness. As an intern in Marketing at Painted Pink, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission by amplifying our message, expanding our reach, and engaging our community through innovative marketing strategies and compelling storytelling.

Marketing Internship

Role Overview

As a Marketing Intern for Painted Pink Inc., you will play a crucial role in amplifying our message, expanding our reach, and engaging our community. You will work closely with our team to develop and execute marketing campaigns, create compelling content, and enhance our digital presence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to raise awareness about Painted Pink’s initiatives, including the Care Kit Initiative, Holiday Giving, PurposelyPink, and the ShowerHer Campaign.
  • Create engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, to promote our programs and engage our audience.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, events, and fundraisers to support breast cancer awareness and advocacy.
  • Collaborate with the board to create multimedia content, including graphics, videos, and blog posts, to showcase the impact of our programs.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and digital channels, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Support the development of email marketing campaigns and newsletters to keep our community informed and engaged.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the organization’s website with fresh content, news updates, and event information.
  • Help manage relationships with thrivers, influencers, partners, and supporters to amplify our message and reach new audiences.
  • Contribute to the creation of marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, and presentations, to support fundraising and outreach efforts.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in marketing and communications.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop engaging marketing campaigns.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Interest in nonprofit marketing and communications.
  • Experience with graphic design or video editing is a plus.

Position Status: Intern (unpaid)

Grant Writing Internship

Role Overview

As an intern in Grant Writing at Painted Pink, you will have the opportunity to support our fundraising efforts by researching, writing, and managing grant proposals. You will work closely with our team to identify funding opportunities, develop compelling grant applications, and track grant-related activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Research grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with Painted Pink’s mission and programs.
  • Assist in the development of grant proposals, including conducting background research, drafting narrative content, and gathering supporting documents.
  • Collaborate with the board to gather data, outcomes, and impact metrics to include in grant applications.
  • Help manage the grant application process, including tracking deadlines, organizing materials, and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Support the cultivation and stewardship of relationships with grant-making organizations, including preparing thank-you letters and progress reports.
  • Assist in maintaining a grant calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements for all grant-funded projects.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify new funding sources and opportunities for organizational growth.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure alignment between grant proposals and fundraising strategies.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant writing, fundraising, and nonprofit management.
  • Contribute to other development and fundraising activities as needed, including donor communications, events, and campaigns.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent writing and editing abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Familiarity with grant writing principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and grant management software (e.g., GrantHub, Submittable).

  • Previous experience with grant writing or fundraising is a plus.
